Early childhood caries prevalence among children with cleft lip and palate at padjadjaran university dental hospital

Background: Cleft lip and/or palate (CL/P) is a congenital abnormality that can be risk factor for Early Childhood Caries (ECC). ECC caries occur in children aged 0-71 months. Poor oral hygiene often found CL/P patients due to anatomic defects, treatment devices, and surgical scars facilitate the colonization of Streptococcus mutans Lactobacilli as caries-causing bacteria. This study aims determine prevalence with 2-6 years at Padjadjaran Univeristy Dental Hospital from 2018 - June 2021. Method: The used descriptive observational method cross-sectional approach. data secondary which medical records University until sample obtained using total sampling 102. Result: was 46.08%. Unilateral complete palatognatoschizis most cases (49.02%), including (21.57%). Male common gender this (62.75%) also (28.43%). Most 13-24 months (66,67%), while 25-60 (22,55%) had highest cases. came West Java (95.10%), (43.14%) Conclusion: Children CLP have high caries, regardless study, not high.
